Motivational Minute #186: Stop Underestimating Your Writing

Before we hop into this week’s Motivational Minute, we wanted to give you a quick spoiler warning. Our founder, Racquel Henry discusses the plot of Spider-Man: Homecoming. If you haven’t seen it and don’t want to know what happens, now’s your chance to click away.

Still with us? Great!

On our Instagram today, Racquel posted, “It’s time to stop underestimating yourself and your writing.“

In Spider-Man: Homecoming, Tom Holland’s Peter Parker is convinced he needs the suit in order to fulfill the role of Spider-Man. He believes that’s what makes him special—that without it, he’s nothing. Of course, by the end of the movie, he realizes that he had what he needed inside of him all along. He doesn’t need the suit to embody everything Spider-Man stands for or to help save the world.

Like Spider-Man, you must realize you have what’s inside you already to achieve your writing goals. Stop underestimating yourself and your writing, and watch what happens when you do what you’re meant to do.

(But if you ever decide you need an extra push or a writing coach to hold you accountable, there’s always The Write Gym!)

Happy writing!
