Motivational Minute #177: Romanticize Your Writing Life

It’s another great Monday for a Motivational Minute! This week, our admin, Megan Fuentes is taking over on Writer’s Atelier TV!

Instagram and Tiktok are chock full of videos suggesting you romanticize everything from your morning routine to the autumn season. While hunting for the beauty and specialness in every single thing that happens to you isn’t necessarily healthy, there is something to be said for making your writing routine feel special!

But how can that be done when the act of sitting at your computer can feel so very unglamorous?

Every writer and every writing routine and writing place is different, so it’s important to reflect on what would feel special to you. Megan, for example, will wear a touch of lipstick and go out to a local café to get her writing done, or make a more special version of her usual coffee if she’s staying home. She also lists a few more free or inexpensive ideas in the video.

Regardless of how you choose to romanticize your writing life, do recognize that choosing to spend your limited time on earth doing the thing you love is special. Your writing deserves romanticizing!

Happy writing!
