Motivational Minute with Paige Lavoie #75: You’re Allowed to Have Hobbies

Paige Lavoie encourages us to pursue all of our interests in Motivational Minute #75 on Writer’s Atelier TV!

It’s important to give yourself permission to have a hobby outside of writing. Paige thought about this while packing for Dapper Day, an event for Disney fans to step out in the styles of yesterday and today. Paige loves dressing up for the occasion and running around with her friends at Disney World.

Just like Paige indulges in Dapper Day events, you’re allowed to go horseback riding, go hiking, play with make-up, cross-stitch, see the new Marvel movie, or do whatever else brings you joy besides writing.

It’s okay to step away from the computer and live your life for you. Not every minute can or should be spent in front of the screen and being productive.

We all need time to turn off and let our brains process plot, characters, and everything else in the background. Then, when you do come back, you’ll feel refreshed and ready to go.

Go out there, have fun, and live life!

Happy writing!
