Motivational Minute with Paige Lavoie #135: Practice, Not Perfection

Paige is going artsy and showing off her pastry-making skills in Motivational Minute #135 on Writer’s Atelier TV!

Sometimes you work on an idea with a clear vision of what you want the finished product to look like. But to get there, you have to have a messy beginning.

Now, we’ve all made something before that didn’t quite turn out right, like Paige’s initial attempts at making her homemade Pop-Tarts. But spending that time working on a new skill and experimenting is never time wasted. Sometimes we have to do it wrong once to figure out how to truly get it right.

Those same concepts apply to writing stories as they do to baking. So keep practicing and keep moving forward because you never know what amazing, delicious things all that practice will help you create in the future.

Happy writing!

Before you go, Paige and all of us at Writer’s Atelier want to remind you to keep making and demanding change and, if you’re local to Florida, register to vote before the end of the day!
