Motivational Minute with Paige Lavoie #108: Dealing With Stress

Paige Lavoie is back, and she has a question for us in Motivational Minute #108 on Writer’s Atelier TV.

That question is, “What do you do when you’re feeling too stressed out to write?”

At this time, Paige is five thousand words behind in NaNoWriMo, and it’s stressful. She keeps writing, overthinks, looks at her word count, and realizes it’s not enough.

Obviously, what Paige needs is to de-stress. To do this, she normally loads up some songs on her computer and does what she calls “computer karaoke.” She sings along to those favorite songs really loudly and doesn’t care if it sounds good. Other people might have a dance party, or take a walk. Paige has also taken a break by baking a bunch of cookies before.

Today, do whatever you like to do to unwind. Then take a deep breath and dive back into your story.

Happy writing!
