National Novel Writing Month is HERE! And our founder Racquel Henry is thrilled to be sharing with you two of her favorite NaNoWriMo success tips in Motivational Minute #179 on Writer’s Atelier TV!
Her first tip for you is to track your word count. The NaNoWriMo site tracks your word count on a graph and tells you that you’re on a streak. If you’re anything like Racquel, watching those numbers go up can be incredibly motivating. More importantly, missing a day can affect your mindset, so it’s important to log your progress even if you’re not logging the advised daily word count of 1,667 words.
Racquel’s other tip is to stick close to your community! One of the most beautiful parts about NaNoWriMo is how so many writers come together to cheer each other on, and we highly recommend seeking out your local NaNo region and Municipal Liaisons.
If, however, you live in a place where there aren’t that many writers around you, that’s when you lean on online communities like ours! The great thing about them is that they can be accessed anywhere, which means you don’t have to leave your home to join a write-in. Check out our Events tab within our online community to see when we’re writing together next!
Happy writing!
