As September winds down, we’re looking ahead to the last quarter of 2023. This is often the busiest time of year for all of us—not just because of the holiday season, but because National Novel Writing Month is almost upon here! Veteran Wrimos know all too well just how quickly these days go by.
So, what’s the best way to end the year?
How about a NaNoWriMo win facilitated by one of our workbooks? All you have to do is read this blog post and decide which fits your needs!
The 90-Day Novel Planner
What is the 90-Day Novel Planner?
This is our free November Novel Planner’s big sister! It features daily planning pages (keep track of word counts, things to research, and where you left off here), weekly planning pages, character planning pages, plotting pages, vision board pages, and a notes section.
Who is the 90-Day Novel Planner for?
If you work on long-form fiction such as novels, novellas, or movie scripts, you’ll already have guessed that this workbook was designed with you in mind. However, writers who have an episodic or ongoing project with recurring characters—for example, serialized fiction for platforms like Kindle Vella—would also appreciate the space to keep track of ongoing plot lines and character growth.
Why now?
Because NaNoWriMo is almost upon us! Longtime followers of WA will no doubt be familiar with our November Novel Planner. We’ve seen some creative uses over the years, but the 90-Day Novel Planner truly offers the most flexibility in a bound book. Purchasing now means it will show up in time for Preptober.
If you’re purchasing the 90-Day Novel for use during NaNoWriMo, we recommend cracking it open in October to start planning your novel, then using it to keep tabs on your writing and refer to your notes during NaNoWriMo, and finally, using the final month as a revision tracker in December (or January, if you want to take December off to rest).
The Write Gym Workbook
What is The Write Gym Workbook?

They also allow writers to track/evaluate their progress and helps them stay accountable to themselves. Writers might choose to use some or all of the pages, depending on where they are in their writing journeys.

Watch me, Megan, set-up a month in The Write Gym Workbook!
Who is The Write Gym Workbook for?
This is for the writer who knows they need to get it together. Unlike the 90-Day Novel Planner, which puts the spotlight on the WIP, The Write Gym Workbook is about organizing the writer and their writing life.
This workbook was conceived as a companion to our accountability and group coaching program The Write Gym, but the workbook can stand on its own. If you’ve ever been curious about The Write Gym, this is a great way to get a feel for what you get in the program!
Why now?
It might seem a little odd to begin using it before January, but who says you have to start the first month of the year? By starting in Preptober, you can take a full month to assess your writing routine and practice finding pockets of time in your schedule. By NaNoWriMo, you’ll have a better idea of what will be necessary for you to reach not just 50,000 words by the end of November, but every writing goal you have.
