I am giggling as I type this blog post. I have been meaning to get this course out for so, so long, and it’s finally here!
(If you’re on the fence about whether you’re ready for an author website, I’ve written a blog post that might shed some light on that subject.)
What is this course?
The title of this course is pretty WYSIWYG. The course walks you through building an author website using Google Sites. By the end of your experience, you’ll have a multi-page author website that’s well-tailored to your author brand and your books—an informational hub for all things [insert your pen name here] that readers won’t find confusing.
You can expect to find within the course:
- Worksheets to help you work through what you want your website to look like
- Homework assignments and templates that help you break down what your website’s content will be
- Step-by-step video walkthroughs for both building the actual site block by block and attaching a domain name to your website
- Tips and tricks I’ve picked up as a decade-long Google Sites user
- A designated chatroom to bounce ideas off of your fellow students
- An active instructor who loves to teach, and will answer any questions you might have during the website creation process
How do I sign up and how much does it cost?
This course is offered on our Mighty Network, and the investment for this course is $75.
To better support Writer’s Atelier, we kindly ask all participants to purchase their tickets using their laptop or desktop instead of on their mobile device through the app. Apple and Android take cuts—up to 30%—from sales on mobile devices, so this ensures more of your money goes where you intended to send it in the first place!
Of course, websites can be complicated things—equally as complicated as the aspirations we have for them, if not more so. You may already have your sights and your heart set on the much more powerful WordPress or the sleek Squarespace as your website’s foundation. Or maybe you already have an author website, but it needs a little zhuzhing up. If either of those cases sound like you, you may be interested in Writer’s Atelier’s website services.
