Motivational Minute with Racquel Henry #160: Do One Thing, Writers!

As we inch closer National Novel Writing Month and all that entails, our founder, Racquel Henry has for you another clever Motivational Minute on Writer’s Atelier TV!

This week, Racquel wants to challenge you to do one thing.

We hear you scoff. “One thing? What do you mean, one thing? One thing of what?”

What she means is, if you’re feeling overwhelmed because you have too much on your plate as a writer—because there is a lot that goes into writing, whether you’re indie or traditionally published—you should pick one thing on your to do list and try to get it done. That’s how you handle the overwhelm. One thing.

If it helps, Racquel is in the same boat, and all the water is rushing on deck. She has a new release coming out, and she is drowning in things to do. (And that’s on top of editing Black Fox Literary Magazine, editing Voyage, and NaNoWriMo/Preptober prep!)

Instead of succumbing to the panic, Racquel sat down, made a list, and told herself she would conquer every item, one item at a time.

It is okay to feel like you’re drowning. But after you’ve taken a breather, make a list and just do one thing.

Happy writing!
