Our fearless and fabulous founder Racquel Henry is here with another Motivational Minute on Writer’s Atelier TV!
So, our videos for November are usually geared towards NaNoWriMo writers. This time, Racquel is simply reminding us all that we’re not supposed to be editing your draft!
If you’re like Racquel, you’ll be really tempted to read through your draft, cut words, fix typos, and add commas. But that’s not what you’re supposed to be doing this month—you’re supposed to be getting words on the page!
Editing is a separate process from drafting, so keep your attention focused on upping your word count. And get those sprints in because you can do it!
Happy writing!
Right now, if we haven’t done so previously, we’re learning it’s important to work activism into our daily lives. Please consider doing what you can to support Black Lives Matter, Reclaim the Block, We Need Diverse Books, and The Bail Project. You can see here for even more resources and ways to help.
