Motivational Minute with Racquel Henry #126: Lean on Your Writing

How are we doing in these fraught times, writers? Racquel Henry has words of inspiration to get us through this unusual time in history in Motivational Minute #126 on Writer’s Atelier TV.

As of this post’s publication, we are in the midst of a pandemic. Racquel knows a lot of writers are probably feeling anxious right now. There’s a lot of uncertainty, and it can feel like sitting down to write is unthinkable.

But Racquel wants us to use this time to lean on our writing. A lot of us writers got into this business because writing can be so therapeutic for us.

Now is the time to focus on that aspect and try to get your feelings down on the page. If you’re struggling right now penning your usual genre—be it fiction, nonfiction, or poetry—try journaling to channel your emotions.

The big thing is to hang in there, writers. We’re all going through some rough situations right now. Nevertheless, try not to keep those feelings bottled up. Put them on the page instead.

And while you’re cooped up inside, you might find it beneficial to check out our online writing community. While our brick-and-mortar studio remains closed, we have a free Facebook group (The Writer’s Atelier Online Community) you can use to reach out to other writers as well as our paid accountability and group coaching program, The Write Gym.

Hang in there, and don’t be afraid to reach out if you need anything!

Happy writing!
