Motivational Minute with Paige Lavoie #99: Not Ready for NaNo? That’s Okay!

Paige Lavoie admits she might not be totally ready for National Novel Writing Month in Motivational Minute #98 on Writer’s Atelier TV!

NaNoWriMo is happening whether we like it or not. It’s later this week! And Paige does not feel ready. Do you?

If you’re not ready, remember: you can still do this! Yeah, it’s going to be hard, but that’s what NaNo is supposed to be—an adventure, a challenge!

And we are made for this challenge.

You can do this.

It’s going to be fun, it’s going to be hard, and there will be moments when you feel like maybe it’s not even worth it. There are going to be moments when you don’t want to be writing at all, but we at Writer’s Atelier are here to let you know that it is absolutely worth it.

Paige herself has written many a manuscript that have never seen the light of day. And that’s okay!

The one thing that every single one of those ideas has in common is that Paige doesn’t regret spending time on them. Each story was a learning experience on writing characters, world-building, and figuring out what she likes to write and what she doesn’t.

Those are only experience that you get by working on your craft. NaNoWriMo is a great way to do that. And besides, you never know what’s going to come out of your NaNoWriMo story. Paige’s first novel, Confidence: The Diary of an Invisible Girl, was a NaNoWriMo novel!

Whether you’re a pantser or a plotter, let’s dive into November with all we have, shall we?

Happy writing!
