Motivational Minute with Paige Lavoie #77: Asking For Help

Paige Lavoie talks about one of the hardest things to do on Motivational Minute #77 on Writer’s Atelier TV!

We’ve covered the subject before, so consider this a friendly reminder: don’t be afraid to ask for help when you need it.

Life in general can be really overwhelming. Sometimes balancing our daily life and our writing life (which entails not only the writing itself, but also marketing, website design, events, et cetera) can just feel like too much.

We all get overwhelmed sometimes. If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed lately, don’t be afraid to ask for support. A little assistance—such as asking your spouse to do the dishes to give yourself writing time, hiring someone to help with marketing or web design, and reaching out to your writing community for feedback and advice—can go a long way.

This is something that took Paige herself a long time to realize. Oftentimes, people are more than willing to help, but they can’t help unless you ask for help!

Don’t be afraid to show your vulnerability here, either. These are your friends—that’s what they’re there for! They know you would happily support them if they came to you.

Happy writing!
