Motivational Minute with Paige Lavoie #76: A Garden of Ideas

Paige Lavoie likens being a writer to tending a crazy, overgrown garden in Motivational Minute #76 on Writer’s Atelier TV!

While putting her own vegetable garden on full display for us in the video below, Paige talks about how sometimes we writers have an abundance of ideas we’re eager to harvest.

It’s easy to feel overwhelmed by all the possibilities. So many questions flood your mind about your story seedlings: Which ones are going to grow and flourish? Which ones need a little more time before they’re ready to bask in the sun?

Ideas sometimes have seasons when they’ll bloom. Just because it’s not one idea’s season right now doesn’t mean it can’t grow into something truly beautiful. Maybe it just needs a little more time to ripen.

Let yourself be inspired by something new and exciting while your other ideas begin to sprout. Brainstorm, work on short stories, and jot down notes even if you don’t know what you’re planting yet.

In tending to your garden of inspiration, remember part of the fun is watching everything grow.

Happy writing!
