Motivational Minute with Megan Fuentes #143: No Wasted Words

Take a breath, writers—the end of NaNoWriMo is here. It’s also a Monday, which means we’ve got a brand new Motivational Minute for you on Writer’s Atelier TV!

First of all, congratulations to those of you who won! But if you’re anything like WA’s administrative assistant, Megan, you did not win NaNoWriMo this year, and you might be a bit bummed about that.

Megan would say, “Don’t be!”

Every word you’ve ever written has gotten you closer to your ultimate writing goals. Yes, every word, even if they were all the wrong words the story you wanted to tell.

Reading back over your NaNoWriMo project and discovering your word choice was all wrong? Congratulations—somewhere along the way, you improved your writer’s intuition.

Maybe you’ve decided this project wasn’t what you actually wanted or needed to tackle at this point in your life. That experience has made you wiser.

Everything you’ve written so far has allowed you to get better and better and better. So don’t despair! Take a break in December if you need it, and come back in 2021 ready to rock and roll!

Happy writing!
