MOTIVATIONAL MINUTE WITH PAIGE LAVOIE ON WRITER'S ATELIER TV #43 - Writing Advice - Writers Just Be You

Motivational Minute with Paige Lavoie #43

Writers, are you struggling with self-confidence? In episode #43 of Motivational Minute with Paige Lavoie on Writer’s Atelier TV, Paige advises us to just be ourselves. Sometimes, we feel like we need to look our best when we step out. However, when we get more comfortable in certain places or with certain individuals, we don’t mind them seeing our true selves. This same concept can be applied to the writing life. Specifically, we can apply it to our comfort level with friends when we show them our rough drafts. They might be able to see the cracks, plot holes, blemishes, and places where you could fill in some details, but you know that they won’t judge you for it, they won’t make you feel bad, and they can see through to your beautiful story underneath. It doesn’t all have to happen at once. You don’t have to meet a new writer and blindly put all your trust into them, but allow yourself to open up over time. Lean on your friends and your writing community. That is, after all, what they’re here for.

Keep filling the world with your stories and happy writing!
