We may still be in the thick of winter here in the Northern Hemisphere, but our founder, Racquel Henry is declaring it YOU season in Motivational Minute #182 on Writer’s Atelier TV!
This week’s quote on our Instagram is, “Make sure you are driven by the belief in yourself and your writing—not the approval of others.” In 2023, Racquel found herself in the trap of waiting for permission and worrying about what other people would think of her.
That is not the energy we’re carrying into 2024.
This year, one of Racquel’s goals is making sure that she believes in herself and her work first and foremost. Other people are always going to have their opinions—and sometimes they’re going to voice them loudly—but at the end of the day, you can’t live your life trying to meet everyone else’s standards and expectations. That’s no way to be happy. That’s no way to become the writer you were meant to be.
Racquel is done with waiting for others to give her their stamp of approval, and we hope you are, too!
