Motivational Minute #174: Life is Short, Write What You Love

Welcome to another edition of Motivational Minute with our very own Racquel Henry! Let’s waste no time getting you motivated and dive right in, shall we?

Many of the writers who have come to Racquel for coaching are either confused about what they want to write or are trying to force themselves to write one thing when their heart is pulling them in another direction. But, as Racquel will tell you, you should be writing what’s in your heart, not what other people wish with all their hearts that you’d write.

Maybe, maybe by putting your most-loved project on the backburner and fast-tracking what you think people will love, you’ll see the money, success, validation, or book deal you’re looking for. But is the cost of delaying or even withholding the project that lights you up worth it?

Perhaps it is for you. Then that’s great! But if you feel conflicted about it, know that following your heart can only lead you exacty where you’re supposed to be.

Happy writing!
