Motivational Minute #164: Keep NaNoWriMo Fun!

Racquel Henry is back with a NaNoWriMo-themed Motivational Minute on Writer’s Atelier TV!

Are you feeling a little bit stressed from the pressures of National Novel Writing Month on top of real life? First, take a moment to celebrate the fact that you’ve made it through your first week of NaNoWriMo. That’s exciting! Even if you haven’t hit your word count every day, as long as you’ve made a conscious effort to work on your craft, you can count this week as a win!

Today, Racquel’s focus is on having fun. Of course, NaNoWriMo encourages you to finish your novel in progress, but this month is supposed to be about unleashing your creativity and running away with your imagination.

If you’re feeling stressed about the word count, lean into the fun aspect. Attend an in-person or virtual write-in (your NaNoWriMo region will have a list!), try one of this week’s writing prompts from us, or chat with your writing community to see how they keep their spirits high.

Happy writing!

We’d love to have you involved in our writing community! Thanks for everything!
