Last Call for These Offers for NaNoWriMo Participants

It’s hard to believe we are midway through March already—almost a quarter of the way through 2022!

And with the arrival of springtime showers (or snowfall!), you may find yourself inspired to begin your spring cleaning. Out with the old, and in with the new. Maybe this year, you’re even side-eyeing the software you use to write—or facilitate writing—your work.

With fewer than two weeks until the start of the first National Novel Writing Month event of the year, April’s Camp NaNoWriMo, now’s a great time to take a look at the special offers available to participants. I feel these deals are overlooked more often than not, but if you’re looking to level up your writing software while on a budget, I figured I would outline the very best deals for NaNoWriMo 2022 participants.

Except, oops! The 2022 deals are not available yet. But if you have a NaNo account now, some of the 2021 deals are still active, but that won’t be the case for long! So grab the deals below while you still can!

You can find all of the following discounts by heading to the Offers page found in the NaNoWriMo site’s sidebar, then scrolling until you see your favorites. Make sure you’re logged in, Wrimo!

Inkstacks

Do you like worksheets? (We all know I’m obsessed!) How about guided exercises and ready-made plans for writing books, short stories, and more? Then you might love what Inkstacks has to offer! They’ve selected three products to highlight:

  • Inkslinger Express, a guided 30-day writing project for short stories, novellas
  • Inkslinger’s 99-day guided writing project, and
  • Their ebook based on the guided writing path

In addition to 25% off all Inkslinger the above products until April 30, 2022, they also have free worksheets and writing prompts available for download. Here’s what to expect from an Inkslinger Guided Path.

NovelPad

A craftsperson’s only as good as their tools. This is true for all crafts, writing included. If you are uncomfortable using your current word processor, you may want to consider switching things up.

NovelPad isn’t one of the most well-known apps, but NaNo says it can help you “[r]each your goals with offline mode, integrated ProWritingAid grammar and spell check, export and import to and from Word, and track progress with automatic writing analytics.”

You can get NovelPad for 20% off until May 1, 2022. You can click here to watch reviews and tutorials to see if it would be a good fit for you before you take the plunge.

Wondrium

Wondrium is a streaming service focused on educational content like documentaries, travelogues, and courses. While there are plenty of ways to get your fill of such content, NaNoWriMo is advertising a free month of Wondrium until May 31, 2022, which is perfect for anyone who has some intensive research for their project coming up.

Discounts I Hope Will Come Back in 2022

If you missed the opportunity to take advantage of these deals in 2021 like I did, keep your eyes peeled around October of 2022!

Scrivener

Scrivener has won the hearts and minds of novelists at every stage of their writing career. This uniquely writerly word processor is famous for its many, many features, and it’s perfect for the writer who wants to manage absolutely everything regarding their book—from research to character arcs—in one place. It’s so flexible and adaptable, you can find dozens of writers sharing tutorials on YouTube and templates across the blogosphere.

Last year, participants received a free trial and 20% off Scrivener.

Plottr

I have a few author friends who use Plottr, and they are totally enamored with it. So enamored, that now even I, Little Miss Stubborn, am curious about what it could do for me!

Plottr is a visual outlining software for creating timelines and outlines for your novel. In fact, you can manage your entire story bible from inside Plottr, then export to Microsoft Word or Scrivener. And with lots of ready-to-go templates for novel structures, it is basically foolproof!

Last year, all participants received 15% off of Plottr, and NaNoWriMo Winners saved 30%!

4thewords

If you’ve ever sighed and wished your everyday writing routine had a little more pizzaz—or had extra incentives attached to it beyond a job well done—then you might really love 4thewords.

This website gamifies writing. You’re an adventurer on a quest to write your novel, but your path to victory is stalked by monsters who can only be defeated by hitting word counts and other writing challenges. As rewards for your bravery and fast fingers, you can use in-game currency to purchase adorable gear for your character. Fans of Habitica, you just found your new favorite thing.

Last year, participants received 15 extra days of subscription time (new accounts already come with a 30 day free trial), a custom NaNo wearable, and more!

Do any of these discounts strike your fancy? Are you planning to take advantage of any of them now or in 2022?
