About the Workshop
In this unique and collaborative workshop, WA content creator and daily Canva user Megan Fuentes will demonstrate how to create various graphics essential for your writing career. These graphics will range from branding boards to social media posts—yes, including the one with arrows pointing at the tropes!—to Pinterest Pins to promotional bookmarks. Along the way, Megan will teach you the tips, tricks, and techniques she’s acquired over eight years of graphic design experience.
No matter your writing career stage or Canva comfort level, you will walk away confident in your knowledge and itching to open a fresh new file!
Canva has the versatility to become a writer’s most powerful tool, but if the slope of the learning curve intimidates you, don’t worry! Megan has planned a beginner-friendly walkthrough of Canva’s toolbars and basic features, so even if you’ve never opened the site or app before, you’ll get familiar fast. (She has a degree in education, and she’s not afraid to use it!)
How to Join Us
This workshop will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2024, from 1 PM to 3 PM EST over Zoom inside of our online community.
The investment for this class is $47. To better support Writer’s Atelier, we kindly ask all participants to purchase their tickets using their laptop or desktop instead of on their mobile device through the app. Apple and Android take cuts—up to 30%—from sales on mobile devices, so this ensures more of your money goes where you intended to send it in the first place!
Once you have registered, you will automatically have access to the group event for the class as well as access to our free online community (hosted by Mighty Networks). All the information and instructions are inside this event group within the online community. It works very much like a Facebook group. This is also where you will find the Zoom access information for the class (under the Classes/Events tab). We recommend downloading the app and making sure notifications are turned on. Additionally, participants should RSVP to the Zoom event. Doing these two things will ensure you receive a notification 10 minutes before the event. Please also note that we do not offer refunds. Megan Fuentes is an author, a freelancer, and the administrative assistant for Writer’s Atelier. Her favorite things in the world include iced coffee, 4thewords, Canva, office supplies, and telling you about those things. And writing, too. And lists!
When she’s not obsessing over story structure, she hangs out with her partner, Logan—a fellow multihyphenate—and dotes on their dumpster kitty, Rochelle.
