Motivational Minute with Racquel Henry #165: Remembering Your “Why” During NaNoWriMo

It’s the halfway point of National Novel Writing Month, and Racquel is back with a Motivational Minute-ish video on Writer’s Atelier TV! (Emphasis on the ish, since we overachievers around here tend to go over a minute!)

This week, Racquel wants to remind everybody to reconnect to your why.

Usually, halfway through NaNoWriMo is when it starts getting really tough for writers. You’re in the muddy middle of your novel, and you’re also in the middle of November. The holiday season comes at you fast!

You’re going to feel like you want to give up. Everyone does at some point, especially during the latter weeks. But remember this: you started writing this novel for a reason. What was that reason? Was it to check “write a book” off your bucket list? Was it to get a message off your chest—or to say it with your full chest to the world?

Think back to the beginning and remind yourself why you wanted to write this project. Let that why be your guiding light in the darkest moments of your writing life this November.

Happy writing!
