Paige Lavoie is back again in Motivational Minute #122 on Writer’s Atelier TV, and she’s talking about nerves!
Let’s travel back in time to the day of the 2020 Trinity Prep Author Festival here in Orlando. Paige is very nervous about appearing as an author.
But the thing is, it’s okay to be nervous. It’s okay to get jitters or feel overwhelmed before big events and conferences. The important thing is that you still do these things—that you put yourself out there. Allow yourself to get in situations where you feel a little anxious.
But when you are feeling anxious, make sure you reach out to people. Lean on your community. Get that support from family and friends. Even Paige texted her community to say, “Hey, I have imposter syndrome! Help!”
Nerves are normal. But if you don’t put yourself out there and allow yourself to get nervous, you won’t have experiences like meeting readers, speaking to other authors, making friends, and all of the things that come along with conferences and festivals—like Paige did when she and our very own Racquel Henry attended the Trinity Prep Author Festival together.
