So why do we sometimes compare our first drafts to books that sit on the shelves at Barnes & Noble? Those books have been through professional editing multiple times!
Paige wants to remind us that everyone has to start somewhere. Don’t compare your initial attempts to write the story in your heart to someone else’s final copy. Books don’t “wake up like that.”
Just keep working hard and believing in your stories.
