Banned Books Week + Giveaway!

Banned Books 2015 Giveaway Square B&WLast year we hosted a successful giveaway for Banned Books week. We’re thinking this is going to be an annual tradition! We’re also working on a lot of things behind the scenes, and of course, we want to make sure we get the word out to as many writers as possible. With that said, we’re hoping to grow our email list. To enter our contest simply sign up for our newsletter in the right sidebar, and leave a comment stating which book you’d like to win. We’ll randomly select four winners! It’s that easy!

If you’re not familiar with Banned Books Week, read what the Banned Books Week website has to say:

“Banned Books Week is the national book community’s annual celebration of the freedom to read. Hundreds of libraries and bookstores around the country draw attention to the problem of censorship by mounting displays of challenged books and hosting a variety of events. The 2015 celebration will be held September 27-October 3.

Banned Books Week was launched in 1982 in response to a sudden surge in the number of challenges to books in schools, bookstores and libraries. More than 11,300 books have been challenged since 1982 according to the American Library Association. There were 311 challenges reported to the Office of Intellectual Freedom in 2014, and many more go unreported.”

  1. The Kite Runner is one of my all-time favourites, I still fail to understand why people ban books! I’d love to read The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas.
