About Writer’s Atelier

Welcome, writer—make yourself at home.

The mission of Writer’s Atelier is to encourage writers to have the confidence to believe in their writing while they also work to improve it. Writer’s Atelier is a place where writers can gather in community and improve their craft. Above all, Writer’s Atelier is a safe space.

Founder, editor, and writing coach

Hi, I’m Racquel

the founder here at Writer’s Atelier. I’m so glad you’re here. Writer’s Atelier began as an editing company that eventually expanded to a boutique writing studio in 2014. I started Writer’s Atelier because I love helping writers. I’m a writer just like you, so I understand the ups and downs of the industry.

You’re in the right place if you’re looking for book editing, coaching, or a community that feels not only safe, but like a soft place to land.

Here’s a little bit about me and WA:

I started proofreading and editing in 2004 in my tiny college dorm room. After years of helping my fellow peers with papers, I moved to editing fiction during my MFA program. I learned quickly that I loved helping writers develop and polish their manuscripts. I spent many years studying the craft of writing and learning to give feedback. I ended up volunteering at The Literary Review, where I fell even more in love with editing. After graduation, I launched my editing company officially, while starting to teach and coach writers. Just like writing, helping other writers became my passion. But something was missing when all was said and done. It was the community. Now, Writer’s Atelier isn’t just an editing and coaching company—it’s also a living, breathing writing community. It’s your writing home.
